Celebrating a Year of Impact and Collective Achievement

As we reflect on 2024, we are incredibly proud of the collective efforts that have allowed Dubai Cares to make a profound impact worldwide. 

Together, we have empowered millions of lives, supported children and youth, and strengthened the UAE’s role as a global force for good. This newsletter is a celebration of our shared achievements - because every milestone we reached was made possible with you.

Let’s take a moment to look back at what we accomplished together in 2024!

Transforming Lives Through Education 

• 116 million lives impacted across 60 developing countries since inception. 
• 260 education programs, 48 advocacy initiatives, and 40 research programs driving meaningful change. 
• AED 1 billion disbursed from our committed portfolio towards programmatic interventions. 

Our flagship initiatives, "Adopt a School" and "Adopt a Library," continued to thrive in 2024! This year, we proudly funded the construction of 8 new schools and libraries, opening the doors to education for hundreds of children in underserved communities.

Standing in Solidarity with Gaza and Lebanon 

• AED 15.65 million raised for Gaza through the "Gaza In Our Hearts" campaign, delivering 253,984 hot meals through centralized kitchens and 37,813 food baskets to families in Gaza. 

• AED 39 million raised for Lebanon through "UAE Stands with Lebanon", providing critical food supplies, hygiene kits, shelter, cash assistance, baby kits, winterization kits, as well as educational and psychological support. 

• 6,000 volunteers joined forces in Dubai to pack 450 tonnes of aid supplies for Lebanon, showcasing the UAE’s compassion and solidarity.

As we conclude another remarkable year, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the UAE community for their unwavering support and dedication. This past year, Dubai Cares witnessed significant expansion and deepened its impact both globally and within the UAE through transformative education programs and community engagement initiatives.  

In 2024, we united to respond to crises in Gaza and Lebanon, launched impactful community initiatives like Volunteer Emirates and Students for Students, and achieved record volunteer engagement. Through these collective efforts, we delivered critical aid, expanded access to quality education globally, and brought hope to countless children and families. 2024 stands as a testament to our commitment to creating a better future, and we look forward to building on this momentum together.

Advocating for Education and Climate Action 

In 2024, we unveiled the "Rewiring Education: The Climate-Education Nexus" report, a ground-breaking document that explores the critical intersection between education and climate action. Launched during the RewirEd Summit at COP28 UAE, this report presents five actionable solutions along with practical recommendations to foster sustainable development through education transformation.

Record-Breaking Community and Volunteer Engagement in the UAE 

• 9,700 volunteers mobilized to support education and humanitarian efforts - a record-breaking achievement! 

• "Volunteer Emirates – Back to School" engaged 400+ volunteers to provide 10,000 school kits for underprivileged children. 

• "Students for Students" united UAE schools, raising AED 720,000 and packing 9,000 school kits for underprivileged children. 

Through "Taste of Giving," we collaborated with nearly 50 restaurants and F&B brands, transforming dining experiences into opportunities for giving back. 

Strengthening Partnerships for Greater Impact 

• HRE Development pledged AED 30 million, integrating education funding into homeownership programs. 

• The Giving Movement raised AED 5.1 million through fashion sales, contributing to education and humanitarian aid in Gaza. 

These partnerships demonstrate the power of collaboration in creating lasting change.
