The program aims to address gender disparities and barriers girls face in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), responding to the post-MDG agenda of positioning STEM as a pathway to socio economic development.

The program’s main outcomes are:
• Improved participation and performance of girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subject at secondary school level
• Capacity development of participating institutions in promoting STEM amongst girls
• Innovative, interesting and girl-friendly approaches to the learning of STEM subjects implemented
• Effective and efficient Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
• Documentation and knowledge management
